CLI
AI automation from your terminal — chat, the Builder, repo analysis, agentic coding, and setup diagnostics
The Arcanflows CLI brings the platform to your terminal: chat with agents, design and create no-code components with the Builder, run workflows, query data tables, analyze code repositories, and diagnose your setup — with an agentic coding mode that can create/edit files and run commands in your project.
Installation
bash# macOS / Linux curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/windconsul/arcanflows-cli/main/install.sh | sh # Go install go install github.com/arcanflows/cli@latest
Quick Start
basharcanflows login # authenticate (email/password or --api-key) arcanflows chat # interactive chat with an agent arcanflows builder # design & create components by conversation arcanflows doctor # check your CLI setup (config, login, server, version) arcanflows init # generate ARCANFLOWS.md project instructions arcanflows repo analyze # AI analysis of the current repository
Chat & Agentic Mode
arcanflows chat is an interactive, streaming session. In a project directory the agent can create, edit, and run — every action is confirmed before it happens:
- File edits use targeted search/replace and are shown as a diff before applying;
/undoreverses the last change. - Shell commands run only after you approve them.
- After actions run, their results are fed back to the agent so it can build, see a failure, and fix — within one turn.
- File operations are confined to your project directory and protected paths (
.env*, keys,.git) are never touched.
Press Ctrl+C to cancel the current turn; sessions are saved and resumable with --continue.
Building components with the Builder
arcanflows builder brings the conversational Builder to your terminal — describe what you want, review the proposed plan, and create it, cross-wired:
basharcanflows builder arcanflows builder "a contacts table and an intake form that saves to it" arcanflows builder "a daily sales report dashboard" --yes # plan + build, non-interactive
It streams a plan, lists the proposed components (tables, forms, agents, workflows, dashboards, tools, apps), and creates them when you type /build — with the same post-build health check as the web console. Refine by just talking ("add a status field", "make it simpler"). Nothing is created until you run /build. In-session commands: /build, /plan, /new, /help, /exit; --yes plans and builds in one shot for scripting.
Diagnosing your setup — doctor
arcanflows doctor runs a health check on your CLI setup and reports anything wrong — read-only by default:
basharcanflows doctor # report every check arcanflows doctor --fix # report, then apply safe fixes
It checks your config and active server, whether you're logged in, your token's expiry, whether the server is reachable, whether the server accepts your credentials, and whether a newer CLI version is available. Each issue prints the command to fix it; --fix applies the safe ones (refresh an expired token, install the latest version).
Repository Analysis
basharcanflows repo analyze --focus security arcanflows repo review src/auth.go # review changes / a file arcanflows repo audit # security audit
Repository content is scanned locally (respecting .gitignore), and a secret-redaction pass strips keys/tokens before anything is sent for analysis.
Automation with the Platform
basharcanflows workflows run <id> --data '{"key":"value"}' arcanflows tables query <id> --filter status=active arcanflows agents list
Staying up to date
basharcanflows update check # is a newer version available? arcanflows update # download & install the latest release
Updates come from the CLI's public GitHub releases (windconsul/arcanflows-cli).
Hooks, Sessions & Config
- Hooks (
.arcanflows/hooks.yaml) run commands before/after edits, creates, and runs (e.g. auto-format, lint, stage). - Sessions are saved locally and resumable.
- Config & profiles (
~/.arcanflows/config.yaml) manage servers, default agent, timeouts, and the agent-loop iteration cap.
